WEDDING & BRIDAL MAKEUP

The Wedding Trial

A trial is essential for the bride. The trial will ensure that you are happy with how you look on your wedding day, that you are not sensitive to the products used and that your wedding day will run smoothly.

The trial is an opportunity to discuss your makeup expectations and experiment (if required) with the type of makeup you would like on your wedding day. If you already have some ideas for your makeup, please have photos or magazine cuttings with you.

The finished result should make you feel comfortable,  match your personality and be optimised for flash photography.

Individual and strip false lashes are available and are included. Individual lashes are usually placed from the middle to outer top lid and will enhance your natural lashes. The full strip is placed along the length of your top lid and will create a more dramatic look.

The Wedding Day

Your makeup will be applied to last all day. However, it is recommended you have a lipstick and/or a gloss for reapplication. These items along with the makeup I use are available upon request.

PHOTOGRAPHIC & COMMERCIAL MAKEUP

Qualified photographic makeup artists understand lighting because it is critical to applying the correct makeup.

Harsh light has extreme contrasts and will reveal flaws in a models makeup. Direct light tends to be dramatic and can make the skin look uneven and a softer light may help hide flaws.

To ensure the best possible makeup is applied, a simple but effective technique called blending is used to create that flawless look. Without a good blending technique, the camera will pick up obvious lines such as badly blended eye shadow or poor contouring.

Balance is equally important. A trained eye can judge balance, especially when doing more advanced and corrective makeup look for uneven application (i.e. one cheek higher or larger than the other; eyebrows shaped evenly; or ensuring lipstick is applied evenly on both sides).

If you are a model, photographer, or producer, a trained photographic makeup artist is an essential element for a successful shoot and a brief, sent well in advance, with the following key pieces of information will ensure success:

  • Information about the venue;
  • Time of day;
  • Lighting; and
  • Model/s skin tone (if unsure, please send a photo)

I look forward to discussing your makeup requirements for your next photographic shoot!

SCHOOL FORMAL & SPECIAL OCCASION MAKEUP

You've picked out everything for a memorable night: the perfect date, shoes, and dress. All you need now is the right makeup to finish your look.

Whether you're going for a fun or a sophisticated image, you want your makeup to complement your dress, not overpower it. Neither your dress nor your makeup should stand out in an overpowering way. If your dress is sequined or shimmery, complement it with a toned-down makeup job. If your dress is plain in color and/or style, you have a bit more freedom to use bright, glittery cosmetics.

The night is about having fun, so feel free to contact me to help you create your personalised makeup look.
